The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C., invites you to enjoy an online screening of “Chopin. The Space Concert” on December 2, 2020, at 6:40 p.m. EST.
The event, recorded in Mount Vernon and Warsaw, Poland, will feature breathtaking photos and film from a space mission led by Colonel (USMC, Retired) George Zamka – an American astronaut of Polish descent. The images, assembled by film director Adam Ustynowicz, will be accompanied by pianist Karol Radziwinowicz playing selections from Frederic Chopin that Colonel Zamka and his crew agreed captured the essence of space travel and the view offered of our planet from space.
Organized by the Alliance for Innovation, the concert is presented on behalf of the Institute of Music and Dance with the leadership and support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
Mr. Paweł Kotowski, the Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission, will offer opening remarks.
The recording will be available online until January 31, 2021.
